The UPI University Access Program is a service delivered by ELI Schools, aimed at helping international students to discover and apply for the best universities and colleges in Ireland. Our program includes an Arrive & Thrive service which provides a range of supports for students delivered over the first days and weeks after arrival, and ongoing support throughout their time in Ireland. ELI Schools is a leading English language and preparatory programme provider with two schools in Ireland. Our services focus on helping international students at each stage of their journey, from pre-application planning to support on arrival and a post-study career accelerator.
At UPI we understand the international student journey. We know many students have been dreaming of this experience long before they reach Ireland. We also know that not every student has a clear idea of which university or programme is right for them.
Through a series of online events and webinars, we help students to find the right programme that matches their academic qualifications, career goals and ultimately their budget. By working in partnership with some of the best institutions in Ireland, we deliver online events that aim to introduce our Pathway program and support services in Ireland, along with an opportunity to get to know the institutions and programmes available.
These events are delivered online and in partnership with agents and student recruitment professionals in countries all over the world. Once a student has attended one of these events and has a good idea of where they want to go, we help guide them through the application process with a University Application Service.
Arrive & Thrive
For many students, the prospect of studying overseas in a new country can be intimidating. Ireland is a friendly and welcoming country, and while the challenge of adapting to a new culture and getting settled is exciting, it can also be a concern for some students and their parents. At UPI we offer a range of arrival and welcome services aimed at taking the headaches out of getting set up and ready for their adventure.
Delivered over the first weeks after arrival we offer a welcome package that includes airport transfers, welcome and walking tours along with self-help guides on applying and securing a PPS (tax ID for part-time work) IRP Card (Immigration Identity Card) and other essential services. Once settled we offer support where required throughout the weeks and months ahead with seminars on finding part-time work and advice on finding secure long-term offcampus accommodation. While life for most will revolve around campus we also offer regular social events and meetups and tours of Ireland and Europe.
