Business placement

Placement is an important feature of the program, which takes place in the third year. The exact duration and nature of the placement depend on the specialization chosen. Placement is supervised by DkIT teachers to support the student and ensure that the learning experience is relevant to the Learning Outcomes of the program.

This course provides the foundation for transfer paths to honors degree courses at other Institutes of Technology and Universities in Ireland and abroad.

Note: Students who have successfully completed the first two years of this course and wish to leave after two years can receive a Level 6 Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Systems.

Admission requirements

  • Applicants will require a baccalaureate degree officially translated into English
  • IELTS 6.0 or higher (or its internationally recognized equivalent)
